Climax Sanitary Sewer

PROJECT OVERVIEW

This project involved rehabilitation of the existing gravity sanitary collection system throughout the City due infiltration and maintenance issues. Pipe bursting, cured-in-place pipe lining, trenchless installation, and open cut installation methods were used to minimize disruption to utilities, businesses, residents, and streets. Pipe sizes were analyzed during design and some pipes were upsized to facilitate maintenance and to comply with current design standards. Deteriorated manholes were repaired or replaced and additional manholes were added to further facilitate maintenance. To further reduce infiltration, sealed castings were also installed. The project consisted of 34 new manholes and 5,500 feet of pipe rehabilitation.
